C’est Quatorze Juillet! Savez-vous ça? For those unable to jet over to Paris or Côte d’Azur for the celebrations, a variety of New York locales are letting les bons temps rouler!

On Thursday, July 12, resto Cercle Rouge (241 West Broadway) will shut down West Broadway between Beach and White Streets in Tribeca to make room for sand pétanque courts. Parents can sip Lillet Rose aperitifs, hear live music, watch cancan dancers and enjoy French cuisine, while the youngsters enjoy pétanque.

Post-Bastille Day in Brooklyn, on Sunday, July 15, Bar Tabac (128 Smith Street) will host the 10th annual Bastille Day celebration at Smith Street with more than 80 pétanque teams competing for gloire. Once again the Lillet Rose will be flowing, while families can enjoy the food and live music.

Uptown, also on Sunday, French Institute Alliance Française has orchestrated the impressive Bastille Day on 60th Street an annual three-block fête from 12-5p.m. There will be a marathon of French themed loisirs and activitiés for all ages. Challenge your kid to a round of pétanque, indulge in a amuse-bouche while listening to French music or partake in face painting and other artistic pastimes.
