Watch out for the impending weather, but it’s about to get swingin’ on the Upper East Side. Tomorrow morning, the City Park Foundation and Jazz at Lincoln Center will present Jazz for Young People and its signature SummerStage Kids, which will bring rhythm and blues for all. From 10:30a.m. – 4p.m. professional jazz musicians will invade Marcus Garvey Park, with special performances and education opportunities. There will be dancing, jump roping and a musical show by Double Dutch Dreamz.
If you want to get your kiddie culture indoors, the Fringe Festival will present two weekend performances of Grimm: A New Musical, Saturday at noon and Sunday at 2:15p.m. (HERE, 145 Sixth Avenue). The FringeJR show, a BIG Theatre Company production, blends cherished tales from the Brothers Grimm with dueling princesses, mystical creatures and an epic quest for glory. Grimm: A New Musical is perfect for ages 6-12.
