Kids' U.S. Open

2012 Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day Sells Out

Scooter just got word that the extremely popular, Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day Stadium Show has once again sold out! The USTA has not confirmed exactly how many people are expected this Saturday, August 25 at the event, but our guess is around 30,000.

Attendees this year will enjoy an assortment of special activities such as Nintendo 3DS Mario Tennis Open, circus acts, tennis skill workshops, crafts, face painting, storytelling, relay races, obstacle courses and special guest appearances from Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob, Patrick, Dora and Diego. On Court 14, kids can test out the speed of their serve on high tech IBM radar guns.

This year’s stadium show will incorporate the likes of Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Carly Rae Jepsen, Mindless Behavior, The Wanted and Rachel Crow and is sure to be a hit with adult and young tennis fans alike. CBS Sports will broadcast the spectacle the following afternoon on T.V.

Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, which is organized by the USTA and sponsored by Hess, benefits the National Junior Tennis and Learning network, an organization that was co-founded by the legendary Arthur Ashe in 1969 to promote and support the sport among youth in the U.S.
